We highly recommend this itinerary for anyone that has about a week to spend in the area or pick and choose from the list below or reach out and we’ll help customize your travel!
Las Vegas - 2 hours 30 minutes
Many of you will start and end your trip via LAS. While its not our favorite city, we have discovered a few things we enjoy. There are several places to go kart (indoor and outdoor), the Arts District to the North is filled with thrifting, antiques and local restaurants. The Velveteen Rabbit is a particular favorite. On the strip we like the Fountains at the Venetian, the rollercoaster at NY NY, the ferris wheel near the Venetian and of course, the Sphere.
Liquor Stop - Lee’s Discount Liquors, Mesquite, NV
It’s true. Utah isn’t a great place to buy booze. Stop in Mesquite as this giant liquor store on your way if you want a decent selection and prices.
Liquor Stop - DABS, St. George, UT
Smaller than Lee’s and a bit more expensive, but good selection and convenient for anyone not driving from Vegas.
Kanarra Falls - 10 minutes
A must do for any adventurous hikers. NOTE: Tim & Aubryn are inviting all wedding guests to join them on this hike on Friday, October 2. Book tickets for that day!
Kolob Canyons - 10 minutes
Basically our backyard / also the North end of Zion National Park, not accessible from the primary Zion entrance
Zion National Park - 50 minutes
October is a great time to visit. Cooler weather and fewer crowds. Most of the park does not require tickets. However, some of the more popular hikes require reservations.
Snow Canyon State Park - 50 minutes
Lovely state park comprised of petrified sand dunes you can climb up and beautiful landscapes set inside a canyon. Handicap and children friendly.
Cedar Breaks National Monument - 65 minutes
A beautiful scenic drive and overlook, offering a handful of walking and biking trails. We usually stop here on our way to Bryce (vs using it as a solo destination).
Kanab - 1 hour, 35 minutes
A popular home base for exploring SW Utah - Zion, Bryce and many slot canyons.
Bryce Canyon National Park - 120 minutes
A very different landscape than Zion and preferred by many locals. Stop by for sunrise or sunset or spend a couple of days here hiking around the hoodoos.
We recommend hiking Queens Garden, eating at Stone Hearth and staying at Happy Trails.
Boulder, Utah - 3 hours, 20 minutes
This is where Tim proposed! Dine at Hell’s Backbone Grill & Farm. Hike Lower Calf Creek (the proposal waterfall) and drive through Escalante Grand Staircase.
